All,
I purchased a 50a Astron linear supply to replace my switcher and the fan
noise. I noticed motor boating.
Does the linear supply have to be grounded at the case to the Flex?
I already have Ferrites on the power leads.

It is. It requires a specific highly accurate watt meter. If the radio
is used, it is probably a good idea to have it sent in for a "tune up";
fully tested out and recalibrated.

Can you compare it to (for example) a calibrated LP-100A, a Bird or
something like that?
I won't knock Daiwa meters for the price, but they aren't famous for
their accuracy - new or not. I have one in line because the display is
easy to interpret on the fly, but I always turn to the LP-100A wh
I bought a used Flex 3000. I love the radio, but I have
one problem. The watt meter is way off according to my new Diawa watt meter.
Is there anyway to calibrate it. I have looked in the setup menu but I can't
find anyway to calibrate it.

Have been out from home for some days now, but I'm back, and have just rewired
the Mic. Works fine on all bands except 15 and 10 meters. It's not so bad on 15
meters, but 10 meter is really bad. I know my antenna is out of tune on 10
meters, but it's not even supported on 12, 17 and 6 meters,
I'm noting a significant power drop on 20 meters - maximum output power is
about 50% of the Drive setting .First noticed while operating but then
switched to a dummy load and got the same thing - all other bands are
operating normally at full rated power.
Any recommendations appreciate
Likewise. Fresh install on to 256GB SSD.Com0Com, VAC, MiniDeluxe, DDUTIL,
CWSkimmer. DPC
max this morning 370us. i7 Machine. ASUS Board.
When testing the pre-release and beta I found that the drivers that may be
culprits can include
anything wireless - network, mouse, keyboard etc.
I have installed Windows 8 on a second internal had drive so that I can
easily boot either WIn 7 or Win 8. I did a clean install on a
reformatted hard drive and did not bring any files or applications
forward from Win 7. I have now installed the full DXLab suite, PSDR
2.4.4, CW Skimmer, DDUtil
I ran the pre-release on a laptop I had and the DPC count was consistent at
1000. The promise was that this would reduce on the release version. I
guess I am fortunate that Win 8 won't install on the computer that I use for
the flex ( I wasted the weekend trying).
I will count my blessings and
Paul,
After thinking about it for a while, what you are wanting cannot & should
not be done.
The MOX button places the radio in transmit. The MOX button lights up
anytime that the radio is in transmit regardless of how it got there. If
VAC were overridden by MOX, then you could NEVER use VAC
Hi Les,
High DPC latency is one of the things reported about Win8 in pre-release:

That info is pretty old (March?). I know some have reported using Win8/PowerSDR
with success.
