I'm thinking about trying a 10Mhz Rubidium standard with my Flex 5000.
On eBay, there are many used FE-5680A units for sale. Look to be from
China.
Anyone tried one? Will they work or are there disadvantages or issues I
should be aware of?

Just curious...anyone using the latest version of VAC. I used the 4.9 version
a long time because 4.10 was buggy with the Flex. I upgraded to 4.11 since the
consensus of the group was that it was fully functional. No problems here.
Now that 4.12 is out I haven't heard anything on it. Maybe
I've been using 4.12 for several months with no problems.

Looks like I'm off the air for awhile.
My beloved Flex 1500 was taken out when a power supply shorted during the CQ WW
DX SSB test on the weekend.
Originally looked like a push-to-talk line had gone down but seems the damage
to the board was much more extensive.

Maybe someone with some experience here will volunteer to help you out. I
could look at it, but finding replacement parts could be difficult. For
example, those tiny relays might be hard to find.
From what I remember (I sold my 1500 in anticipation of my 6500), a lot of

If you can get the drawings from Flex, I am happy to look into it for you.
Power chain issues aren't that difficult to debug. If I can't find it, I
will give it to my back (Ken SK). :)
