How can you be certain that the listener on the OTHER end is calibrated? Maybe
you are perfect and they are off.

Hello all,
I have question I'm also trying to set up VAC myself for the first time. I
downloaded VAC 4.12.0.4972 (DEMO VERSION). I cannot get it to work. It works
fine in receive mode but NO transmit. VAC 1 is the only option I can select
on Power SDR. I went thru the set up 5 times thinking I

That is lucky for you then.
DO NOT USE ANY DEMO VERSION OF VAC!! YOU
Calibration, or index of co-operation, was never an issue, or even used,
with HELL. That's why a receiving HELL system prints two lines with the
same text simultaneously.
That way a slanted text has always at least one complete instance of text
visible.

This is my last, best price for my Flex 5000A. Does not have the 2nd
receiver or ATU.
DOES have the DJ controller console that I will throw in.
Excellent condition. Nonsmoking environment.

For KD4JRX,
When setting up VAC, it's important to remember:
You need TWO VAC's set up in the software control panel - one for transmit, one
for receive. These must match up with the appropriate input/output lines in
PowerSDR (Setup, Audio tab, VAC1).
VAC2 in PowerSDR is not used in the Flex
Has anyone else noticed that there is an additional preamp on 40M and 30M if
you use the keyboard CTRL P command?
This is especially noticeable when you have the AGC-T set to about 60% or
70%.
40 M only has 3 levels... ATTN-OFF-PRE1
But if you use the Ctrl-P there seems to be an additional level
Thanks,
I was aware of the KB article and I guess the Flex wiki is still out
there too but it had seemed to me some of the optimum setup parameters
and which Windows drivers to use had changed as PowerSDR has evolved.
Just wanted to make sure I had everything in the most up to date
I don't see that here using PSDR 2.5.3 w/5000a
What version of PSDR and radio are you using?

I've never tried, but usually the last thing I want is a preamp on 160/80
or 40.
I'm normally trying to knock down signals to under s9.
Good to know though...

On
Using F3k and v2.5.3 with preamp mod
Using Ctl P and cycling through the settings with the P key whilst holding
CTL
you can find that additional preamp setting on 60 40 and 30m bands

Hi Michael
It really has nothing to do with the drivers. The process is still the
same.
The drivers operate at a different layer.
