Hi All
One of the big problems with the pricing of both new and second hand Flex
and Anan radios as I see it is the availability of the item below and
others like it that are coming on the market
http://www.dynexproducts.com/products/computer-accessories/DX-ECFW.html
I have used one of the above for the past 5 years with my F3K and it works
just fine

Using F3k and v2.5.3 with preamp mod
Using Ctl P and cycling through the settings with the P key whilst holding

You may well disagree - but you are probably driving your amp with just a
few watts
and never need to see the finals temp on the F3k
I believe that there are many who operate the F3k that do not use an amp
but rely
on max output - within the capabilities of the F3k - and their antenna

As a new owner of a F3K I am trying to set it up to use EasyPal
I am having issues in that EasyPal will not open the Virtual com port

Does anyone out there have an F3K working with EasyPal and if so

I downloaded the com0com and installed 7 and 17.
As you found 7 is OK but not 17.
EasyPal will not look at virtual commports more than 0-8.
If you could reverse the 7 and 17, then it would work.

Yes Both will work but you have to remember to match up PWSDR
to what you have set in EasyPal
If you use Cat in PWSDR you must use Cat in EasyPal
and if you use PTT in PWSDR you also must use PTT DTR/RTS
in EasyPal
