Actually, it's only worked correctly once. At first I couldn't figure out
what was going on since, as you say in another post, focus kept shifting
back to N1MM when I tried to tune with the mouse

Thanks Ray and Dudley. I'm up and running with both N1MM and SD loggers
using the vspMgr program you suggested. Very easy to set up. Since I'm
running CW with an external WKUSB keyer, there was no need for a second
virtual port pair for keying.

Hi,
Is anyone out there using the N1MM logger with PowerSDR? I'd like to give
it a try but can't find much on it.
What I can find indicates that some kind of virtual serial port setup is
needed to implement rig control and references something called vCOM. Are
people still using this? Is
Hi,
Thanks to all who took time to watch and especially to those who commented.
I'm a little disappointed that there was no response for the flex folks
themselves, at least something indicating that they understand the issue.

Hi,
I've always wished that the PowerSDR display would hold the display
frequency limits fixed and move the passband indication around while
tuning. I've talked with the Flex guys about this in the past but I'm not
sure I was able to get across what I meant very well. The other day it
occurred
Jim,
Yes. Instead of controlling the DDS based on the VFO A frequency, control
the DDS based on the selected display window. Then use the VFO A (and/or
B) frequency to select the location of the passband, i.e. the segment of
the available frequency range that's converted to audio.

Hi,
When running the new driver/firmware/PowerSDR setup on 80 meter CW with a
power output of 10 watts or greater the forward power Tx Meter shows NaN

would indicate some kind of overflow/underflow problem in the forward power
Hi,
I did a little experimentation this morning with the lockup problem I
mentioned previously.
With the new driver/firmware, Safe Mode seems to get rid of the lockup
problem completely on my PC. Running Normal mode, 192K/2048 sample buffers,
the lockup occurs with any activity that causes DPC
Hi,
I've been using the new driver/firmware/PowerSDR V1.14.0 setup since
yesterday. Here are some comments.
First the good news.
Bounce-related keying problems really do seem to be cured! After trying
different straight keys with no lockup problems I decided to go for the acid
test and try a
Eric,
Thanks for the input.
Re the Tx Meter issue: after reading your comments, the Tx Meter issue is my
operator error -- I wasn't aware of the special TUN setting and it looked to
me like the Tx Meter setting wasn't taking effect properly when going into
TUN/transmit mode.

Thanks for the input guys.

how? I don't know what chipset my computer uses. How could I find that

Hi,
I've been running an older version of the K6JCA code (SVN 2173) for awhile
with my single receiver 5000A and have been quite happy with it.
I just updated to the latest official PowerSDR release (v1.12.1) and
firmware version (1.2.0.3). From posts on the reflector I had the impression
that
Brian,
I've noticed the same thing many times when working CW. Seems like there's
a sort of crosstalk with strong signals when the NB is on. I'd guess it's
some kind of AGC/NB interaction issue.
An interesting sidelight -- I've noticed my old Drake TR7 does something
very similar when its
Hi,
My laptop has a firewire port but the connector does not match the connector
on the firewire cable that came with my 5000A. The laptop connector is
smaller and has sort of an M shape to it. Apparently this is a 4 pin
connector -- I imagine its the firewire equivalent of the mini-USB
Hi,
Is there any way to send PowerSDR's raw I/Q input from the 5000A to VAC or

Seems like you can only get the processed/filtered audio out in real time
though it is possible to record the raw I/Q.

Don,
The 5000A definitely has problems with the CW key input.
When using an external keyer or straight key it's important to wire
only the tip and leave the ring unconnected. Sleeve to ground of
course. See comments on this elsewhere on this reflector.

I had similar problems and have partially resolved them.

Hi,
Here's a suggestion for a smalll change that I'd personally find very

Hi,
The 5000 control panel program has a Sample Rate Lock Mode box that

There's also an Enable WDM Audio checkbox. What is WDM and what does it do?

Hi,
Awhile ago I posted saying that none of my straight keys or my
external key worked reliably when plugged into the key input on the
back of the 5000A. This is resolved now so thought I'd post the cause
and solution.
The problem was caused by a combination of wiring and software.

Hi,
I'm running PowerSDR V1.10.3 SVN:1606, which is the version that came on the
CD with my rig.
The manual says there is an Info tab that allows you to monitor voltage

something I need to do to make this appear?

Hi,
I can't get a straight key to work with my Flex-5000A.
Every few elements the rig misses key closures or openings with the result
that, on the sidetone, dits turn to dahs, multiple elements get run
together, or elements are missed entirely. Every so often the sidetone
actually gets stuck

Hello All,
I've been thinking about getting an SDR-1000 but operate nearly 100% CW and
this has put me off a bit. On the flip side, I'm a software engineer at an
aerospace company and do a lot with DSP so it seems like it'd be a lot of
fun to play around with a radio like this.
