When I first got my SDR 1000 everyone told me how good the Audio was; I was
using a Heil MC10 with
HC4(Local) and HC5(DX) elements.
When the 5K arrived I expected to get equally good reports, but I have been
disappointed, so have my
Contacts.
However this week I purchased a Heil PR781 and
I have not seen any significant discussion on the use of the 5K flex-wire
port.
I would like to know if anyone is using this port, for what purpose and how
it is accessed.
The 1000 port was (and is) very useful (to me) for switching antennas when
connected to

Now I can really get down to play!

Subject: 5K manual
In great anticipation of getting my 5K soon, I have 2 queries:
1) When do we anticipate the operators Manual will be available?
2) Although I searched the NET I could not find any details on
interfacing to the I squared C connections on the 5k Flexwire I/O.
I note that for some time the BINAURAL operation does not work in AM.
This is a pity as it simulates a pleasing Stereo AM.
I find, however, that by tuning in an AM station in either USB or LSB and
widening the sideband passband to
6.0 KHz. Then clicking on BIN, the effect of Binaural sound is
