Looks good for both radios.

Hi Edwin,
Does anyone know if the SDR1000 will be listed on this chart?
I doubt it.
The results would depend to a large extent on the quality of the sound
card used.

Hi,
I'm not a lawyer or an expert for customs duties.
Anybody who, is importing equipment to the European Union should check
this database http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/dds/en/tarhome.htm
because, according to the newest issue of the CQ-DL and the DARC website

Hi,
I've been browsing the code for the console and had an idea, which
might be of interest, especially for contesting with cluster
assistance:
Allow the user to see the the panadapter in a seperate form which
allows resizing and scaling. And in this new panadapter viewer insert
cluster spots
Hi Tim Bob,
most concerns me is the opening of Pandora's Box
I agree with you Tim, up to a point. With SDRs one needs to also think
outside of the box ... sri
Seriously, an API would be really cool and why not go a step further,
why not make the SDR a faceless application (a radio server if

etc.
We use .Net remoting to control some of our 3D realtime graphics
renderers (e.g. sport events in TV) at my qrl. For us, at least, it
works well.

Q45. How much of the FLEX-5000's operation is controlled/restricted
by the radio's firmware?

installed similar to those provided with PC sound cards. ...

In case nobody noticed, there is a new version of 'The Ad' on the Flex
homepage.
Two changes worth mentioning:
OLD: Individual optimized bandpass filters
NEW: Individual optimized filters
and
it now has a picture of the 5000a

Hi,
this may be nit picking, but ...
A. The filters are optimized for the amateur bands but will operate
over the entire HF spectrum. We lock transmitter TR relay in
firmware and require a valid license to receive a key to operate
outside of ITU recognized bandplans.

Hi Phil,
you assume of course, that there is more firmware than just a
controller for the firewire. I made the sloppy assumption that the
firmware is the console, which is open source.

Hallo,

maybe one should try to compile the console using Mono - a .Net
implementation which also runs under Linux:
http://www.mono-project.com/.
Shouldn't need to change too much(?), but will require a bit of work.

Not quite... People think and feel in analog fashion.
A version with the most important functions on buttons and
pseudo-analog knobs make alot of sense, especially after 20 or more
hours of SOAB in a contest

Gerald put over a year into the design of this interface.
If the card has specs close to or better than the Lynx, then I tip
my hat to Gerald... Imho, a year is not along time for this kind of
developement.
It cannot be used as a sound card easily.
Schade... That is a pity.
I goofed up a link:

Hi,
I don't want to harp about this, but which is really correct?
FAQ:
Q35. What changes were made to the internal (non software) bandpass
filters on the FLEX-5000?
A. First, all filters are low pass instead of band pass. We don't
need band pass filters in the FLEX-5000 SDR architecture.
I too have questions...
1) When will a (short) description of the differences between the 1k
and 5k front ends be avaidable? Or what makes the 5k hardware better?
(An unfair question?)
2) Will the 5kc and 5kd radios be remotable, e.g. DotNet remoting?
3) Will the 5kc and 5kd be avaidable with

The Audigy2 ZS notebook does not have both a stereo line input and
microphone input that is required. The one we tested had a horrible
imbalance between the channels so we could not get it to reject the
image.
Gee, that sounds like my Audigy 2 ZS. Nice card on paper but it don't
work no good
