I have used it with XP Home with no visible problems. I think the main
differences in Pro vs Home are in the networking area (for instance
max number of pending connections, etc) so you should not see a
difference as I understand it.

don't know about a literal multiple chip system, but those are pretty rare
for desktops these days.

disadvantages that I've found very annoying, mostly in the networking
area (as Neal alluded to). Most notable are:
a) Directory and file security is hidden from user control -- The
