Yes. The problem is, there are two different hotfixes, one for SP2 and one
for SP3.
But at this point in time there is NO reason to still run SP2. You really
should upgrade

I downloaded the 1394 speed hotfix for XP SP3 . when I try to run it says
"access denied" . I put the password in 2 unzip as prescribed. Been through

is no way to verify the FW speeds. I have done extensive searches and
there is nothing that can test or verify the FireWire operations.. But
I have not seen or heard of any ill effects by using kb955408
