The notion that verticals are noisey and flat tops are quiet is a myth. My verticals are far quieter than my flat tops in general. I would throw away the balun, throw away the coax. Go to radio shack and buy yourself some 300 ohm foam twin lead for 10 bux and run that to your tuner. The stuff
