No! No! No! Please don't reach into my computer and permanently and
irreparably tear out the digital meter. I don't want a ragged hole in the
console with little virtual wires hanging out!
Sorry... couldn't resist.
Sincerely - Thanks for the OPTION.

In answer to some recently posted comments:
1) Yes the SDR-1000 is a valuable piece of test equipment in my lab.
2) Yes, the SDR-1000 is my primary radio as I work CW, PSK31, RTTY,
Hellscriber, etc. etc.
3) I have yet to find a mode where the meter function could not

Ahi,
Is this box (SDR-1000) a piece of bench test gear or a radio?
Yes it is and I am very happy it is.

Well, OK, if it makes Bob happy I will go along.. anyway I am making no
progress on this topic at all, so I have to move along to other issues.
I just will clarify,
5) Yes, I can watch the flickering meter and optically resolve an
average, or be cognizant of a peak value. I am 73 years old and have the
eyesight that goes with that so I am not a techie possessing superior
acutity.

Enough Already - If your talking about the dBm meter in the upper right, just
set the background to white and the text to light gray and you will see it only
when you specifically look at it otherwise it's invisible. There just has to be
something else to talk about

that we have great analog signal meter, I'd like the option to remove the dB
signal level display
Why to hide the absolutely best and most useful display feature of the
whole SDR-1000?! I need dBm for my measurements.

Now that we have great analog signal meter, I'd like the option to remove the
dB signal level display above it as it's somewhat distracting. Is anyone else
interested in having this option?
Thanks,

I would like to have the option to turn it OFF too, along with being
able to maybe have it display dBm, S units, uV, etc., like WinRadio
has already.
