Mel,
I usually tamper much (too much?) with the SDR database. I mean
without touching the program, just modifiyng the data and sometimes the
structure externally. In fact, everytime I load a new version I must
pay for my sins.
I do it because I keep a large SWL database log and I adapted it

I used OpenOffice to modify the database and it works fine.
The only downside is that I have to put my changes in each
time there is a new version, as I don't import an existing
database when I install a new version. I like

I think that I went into the database with OpenOffice and added
the entries myself. You could also use MS Access. Once you
start playing with the table entries, you can customize your
SDR-1000 nicely.
