What Rod has suggested is good reflector etiquette. This stated as such in the FlexRadio Reflector Rules and Guidelines that everyone implicitly accepted when you joined the reflector. A quick refresher might be worthwhile (http://www.flexradio.com/Support.aspx?topic=Reflector_Guidelines)

Actually, I lay the bulk of this problem at the feet of the digest option. It means that, you get many messages as a single email message and when you press the reply button, you get many messages included in your reply. Given that every current mail user application (MUA) threads messages

Well I must have something set wrong on Thunderbird. I keep up with several ham radio list as well as model train list and if I don't use digest mode I'm greeted with anywhere from 300 to 500 emails when I get home from work everyday. Only way I ever found to manage it was digest mode.
