Hi all

I would like some assistance please. Preferably someone who can talk me
through my setup on the phone/Skype (in UK evenings).

I have a Flex 3000 and VAC 4.09.
I have MMVARI installed.
I have N1MM v11.7.5.

I followed the (outdated) instructions in
http://flexradiowiki.com/frsradoiowiki/index.php?title=MMVARI
Section 2.2 there doesn't stick (when I return to the screen the options I
set are defaulted).
Specifically instructions 2.2.3.2 and 2.2.3.3
The 3 instructions under 2.3 don't exist.

In section "Configuring Virtual Audio Cables for MMVARI" if I set 1.1.6 (Check
"Enable for Digital Modes) then I cannot use VAC for USB/LSB, so is this a
critical setting?

When I set VAC to use Windows WDM-KS my PSDR wouldn't work thereafter when I
enabled VAC. Seems to have stabilised but not idea why I need to use that
given that for the last year I've been using MME successfully. Anyway that
freaked me out. What is the difference and is it important to use WDM-KS
over MME?

On the following instruction from the Wiki link
http://flexradiowiki.com/frsradoiowiki/index.php?title=MMVARI there is no
such option:

  2. N1MM Window > Config > Config Ports...

      2. Mode Control
         1. Mode Send to Radio RTTY > AFSK
         2. Mode Send to Radio PSK > AFSK-R

AFSK and AFSK-R are not options available.

Do I need to set up a path in the Config > Mode Control > DI-1 > MMTTY path
field? Coz I don't have MMTTY... I tried to point this to MMVARI.exe's path
but it made little difference.

If I bring up N1MM's digital interface, I get a com port error ("Com6 is in
use"), and 2 windows (N1MM's DI with crosshairs, and the "Digital interface
Soundcard (MMVari)" window (the blue screen with macro buttons).

My N8VB com port pairing is Com6 (PTT) and Com16 (CAT)).
So effectively N1MM is using the port and so won't let MMVari use it.

I tried to follow the instructions in
http://n1mm.hamdocs.com/tiki-index.php?page=Digital+Setup#Downloading_and_Installing_MMTTY
section
1.3 but Com6 (which is my CAT/PTT/CW setting has no Digital checkbox
available (it's greyed out).
If I select another Com port it's not recognised.

Please please please tell me I don't need DDUtil as I have NEVER gotten this
to work when trying to use MixW while N1MM runs in teh background. (The
setup instructions for DDUtil are not geared to people without post-docs).
If we need to use DDutil then please factor this that we may need to spend a
fair amount of time getting this set up first.

I have screenshare software to cap what I'm looking at if anyone wants
copies of what I am looking at.

In dire need of assistance...

Sticking with MixW for now, it has rubbish cluster facility but at least it
doesn't moan about Com ports.
But I want the bandmap functionality in N1MM and macros.

TIA!
