IIRC the internal tuner for the 5K is actually made by LDG or is an LDG
design. Seems like I remember it that way from back when I had my 5K.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Doesn't mean it's as good as
an external one though.

I use an external tuner. I had very limited success with LDG tuners (I tried
two of them) Take a look at the Palstar HF-AUTO. WOW! Talk about a tuner!
