Hello all --
When I am using the second receiver in my Flex 5000A for ESC
purposes, my transmit audio sometimes becomes garbled. It sounds
like my voice is being doubled and mixed with itself a few hertz off
frequency. This does not affect receive at all, just transmit, and

Do you have the monitor button turned on? If so you mic is picking up
your monitor audio and it's going back into the mic, and then back out
your speaker, and a round and round it goes.

How are you determining you have this echo? Are you using a repeater
that will repeat back what it hears or are you listening to yourself on

The Flex has a small amount of delay as it processes your audio. If you

Jim,
I was wondering what kind of audio distortion you were getting reports of?
One thing about the PR40 and just about all Heil microphones is that you
should not get any closer than 4 inches to the mic, or 6 inches if you have
a big booming voice, the lows will get so muffled that it will

Ken,
The AutoEnable checkbox on the Audio-VAC Tab will allow VAC to be
engaged while in digital modes (DIGL, DIGU, DRM). VAC will be disabled
in all other modes when AutoEnable

Ken,
It work on mine like Eric described. Do this. Put the radio in one of
the DIGI modes. Open up setup and check both boxes in the VAC setup.
Click on Apply.
With the Setup screen still open, click on a SSB mode

Can someone tell me where and how the monitor audio is sampled on the SDR?
I'm having an audio problem with the mike (no transmit audio) but I do hear
the distinctive audio on the monitor when using digital modes, such as BPSK.
I'm thinking that the audio driver is bad on my SDR, but if it is,
I am getting reports that my transmit audio has changed between ver 1.4.4 and
1,4.5 beta 1 ? They say that my audio has more bass now and not as good. I am
using default settings for both versions.
PS: my Bandstack info had errors when importing from 1.4.4 to 1.4.5 beta 1 ,
but worked ok when

Hello Bruce,
You should have your headphones or external audio amplified speakers
connected to 'OUTS1' and 'OUTS2' on the D44 breakout box.
Your SDR's 'To Line Out' should be connected to 'OUTS3' and 'OUTS4' on
the D44 breakout box.
Be sure that the 'MON' (Monitor) button is turned off on
