I actually thought it compressed your cw, much like a zip file
(multiple consecutive dots/dashes are compressed).
I was having horrible RF problems in the cw naqp and the keyer would
take off just sending dots,
and I assumed it was compressed cw).

with not a single lockup of any kind. I have never experienced any sort
of a CAT problem using N8VB-vCOM serial ports. I wonder if your

I have a Asus P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard on the machine I have been
developing on for a couple of years. It has the VIA 6307 firewire
chipset on it. I have been having problems that persisted longer than

I just tuned around on 10M and discovered the beacons. I had no
idea they were so easy to receive. The blips I was looking at inside
the IF passband were FIVE 10M BEACON stations! I was not any
sort of a phantom sig or DDS spur - but REAL signals ;-)

I find that if the Mon is enabled during SSB operation, I hear the slightest
of lag in my earphones/speakers which is just enough to screw me up.
(no I can't chew gum and walk either)
So I must remember to turn off MON which I do need when sending cw.

Downloaded and installed subject SVN. Had it running in 10 minutes.
Looks good, no problems seen. I am currently parked on 14.109.5 with

Perhaps I'm missing something here, but by default, the first time the
console is fired up, MON is off for SSB, and on for CW. Isn't that the
functionality you're looking for?
