I notice if I click a button with the mouse I can repeat the action
using my Space Key. So if I press the PTT using the mouse I can
thereafter use my space key to toggle PTT which is excellent.
I don't know if I'm the last person to know this but I'd thought I'd put
it out there.
I had NO idea, thanks David. That may come in handy sometime.

Can I wire the I/O port on the back of the Flex 1500 to an on-off foot switch
for use in voice contests?
Should be able to add an external VOX box in the mic line? Right?

I purchased the SIIC product to use my 5KA with a laptop, but alas, it has
only a single wide slot. I have a new 15 Win7 laptop coming Friday and I'd
love to use the card but there is no Type II slot on this laptop either. Is
there an adaptor I can buy that allows me to plug in the dual port bus
In earlier versions you can play back your recording without keying the Flex
or having to load the file, but I can't do that with 2.0.16 unless it's
keyed down. It does do a very nice on-air playback.

The front panel record and playback is designed only for over the air playback.
The previous ability to play without keying the radio was a bug that is now
corrected. It also screwed up the rx image rejection too which was also a
corrected bug.

Dick,
There are several PCIe FireWire cards that are available. Checkout NewEgg.

As far as I know there are no usable FW to USB adapters, since USB does not
have
Dick,
Glad you figured the playback out, one way to play it back locally and not
on the air is to drop the drive control to 0 , then use the PTT or MOX to
key with no RF output.
