re: [Flightgear-devel] OT latex2html??
Hmmm, I had a quick look at the docbook stuff and it does not look too bad for me. Unfortunately I got some problems with converting it to pdf. I used db2pdf on my SuSE (8.2) box and got the following error mesage: running openjade failed; check style files included by: /usr/share/sgml/docbook/docbook-toys/suse-both.dsl aborting. Does anyone have experiences with converting using openjade (or anything else that does work)? BTW, I just looked at the Docs directory. Do we prefer any format or will we always have html and pdf in parallel? If you have the time and patience, do a one-time conversion from LaTeX to Docbook SGML or XML. due to the size of the current flight school (pdf=5.6MB), I would like to change it to HTML. I tried to use latex2html, but was more or less disappointed by the result (same with pdf2html). We use 'pdflatex' for PDF output and 'htlatex' for the HML version of the manual(s). As I'm not an expert this is quite tricky for me, but it works and I'm confident with the result, Martin. -- Unix _IS_ user friendly - it's just selective about who its friends are ! -- ___ Flightgear-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.flightgear.org/mailman/listinfo/flightgear-devel

To answer my own question: Don't Adobe's accessibility tools for PDF include an HTML converter (or renderer)? http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/access_onlinetools.html This seems to be an online service only. I don't know if that's any use to you. Mally --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). An example is a documentation I had to write: http://ftp.intevation.de/great-er/sciparam/manual/sciparam-manual.html You can download the source for it in http://intevation.de/cgi-bin/viewcvs-greater.cgi/sciparam/doc/ Especially the file .latex2html-init has to be tweaked to give useful results.
