[Flightgear-devel] Impossible to get help if FG-ROOT is no set
Hi, it happens to me that I cannot get help (to know all the switches/parameters to start FG if the fg-root is not set. I include this examples from Windows platform, but it behavies the same under Linux. === C:\Tempfgfs Base package check failed ... Found version [none] at: \FlightGear Please upgrade to version: 0.9.4 C:\Tempfgfs --help Base package check failed ... Found version [none] at: \FlightGear Please upgrade to version: 0.9.4 It seems to me that the command line parser should always accept the --help command, regarding the fg-root environment variable or command switch for fg- root value. The current situation is that if I don´t know nothing about FG, I cannot help to know something about the switches/parameters (a deadlock). Thanks. Pablo - ¿Todavía no navegás con Keko? However, when I tried to fix this once I discovered that the help text resides in the base package. The program can't find it if it doesn't know FG_ROOT! I propose that we move the help text to the core program to prevent this situation. If not the full help text, at least an abbreviated help explaining the importance of FG_ROOT and how to set --fg-root.What do others think?
