Greetings, First off this is only really going to apply to people in England and Wales (unless people are willing to travel further - we have an International Airport locally). On the local news (Points West) they were on about a Concorde Museum somewhere in the Bristol area. They were just plugging the fact that they were selling DVDs of which part will be used for funding of the Musuem. That is all I know about the museum so far.
My thoughts were to volunteer my services into building them a Concorde simulator. I understand they have a complete Concorde. This would be great to get me up to speed on how flightgear works etc. Don't worry I took this approach when working on Tornado, Eurofighter and FOAS, and it worked out well enough. My question is would anyone be interested in joining in? I'd hope to be able to approach the museum (and then further candidates thereafter) with a good number of people to make the project a goer. I've not contacted them yet but I would probably do so in the New Year. I have contacts in Airbus which may help (although they don't know my plans yet) and also over 10 years in the defence industry working on Fastjets, mainly in CIU Systems Integration, Systems Integration R&D and Certification. I've also worked in Canal Restoration groups for a good few years. Working as a volunteer I would not expect to be paid for my time or travel (however it has happened in the past). I would also expect to pay for my own food and drink. I would not expect to pay for tools or equipment, materials, specialist labour, H&SE requirements or certification, logistics, etc. If anyone is directly interested then please email me off list. If emailing me please make sure you put at least the word concorde in the mail itself so I can pull your message out of the spam, but I'd prefer you use the email [EMAIL PROTECTED] ( mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ) Seasons Greetings, Al West Somerset, England. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
