Nice work! And the preference / settings changes too - I know this is painful work, but it's long overdue and will really help make using FG more pleasant for lots of people. Incidentally, I am currently cursing Apple's OpenAL implementation, it only supports the default input and output devices - despite 'supporting' the enumeration extension.
