Re: [Flightgear-devel] Rain/ Snow/ Visibility and Rwy-lighting

2008-03-26 Thread Nicolas
Hi,

As discuss on IRC, I haven't this problem... and I don't understand
why it can happen.

Nicolas

 Hi,

Looking at an online weatherradar I figured out today
a nice spot for practizing IFR-approaches ( LSZH).

Heavy showers of snow, visibility about 500m - great
fun! Great work and thanks for the Rain patch!

But there was something I missed- the runway lighting!

Ususally with a certain value of visibility the rwy
lighting is set on- but not with precipation.

Can we add this to the To-Do-list of the rain-patches?

 Cheers

I found such a case near Göteborg in Sweden:

And some more very close:
57*48 08.2N 11*39 55.6E
58*15 49.1N 11*20 47.2E
58*40 10.7N 11*06 54.9E

And I can see another one ahead, but I don't have time to list more than these.

Another kind of bug maybe is around 59*15 14.6N 10*33 07.1E, the scenery look
very
rectangular here but the areas seem to have a few islands in them. Still it
looks quite
weird and not correct as far as I can see

In general, the whole Swedish scenery (or at least the parts I looked at, which
is
following a track from ESSA - ESOE - ESGG and then following the coast north
of ESGG a
bit) look crap in 1.0 scenery.

Arvid Norlander

[Flightgear-devel] Ship 3d models

2008-03-26 Thread Curtis Olson
I was just perusing our model inventory a bit, and was curious if we have a
3d model of an ocean ship approximately 70m long? And I don't want to ask
for favors here or burn anyone's time, but if anyone out there was super
bored and wanted to throw together a quick approximate 3d model of the Oscar
Sette, I could put it to use over then next 2 weeks. :-)

Here is the Oscar Sette web site ... currrently on a 16 day ocean debris
location and recovery mission.

Best regards,

Curt.

Re: [Flightgear-devel] Ship 3d models

2008-03-26 Thread Ron Jensen
I did a little quick research on the Oscar Sette. It was originally the
USNS Adventurous (T-AGOS-13), a Stalwart class Modified Tactical
Auxiliary General Ocean Surveillance Ship of the United States Navy.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalwart_class_tactical_auxiliary_general_ocean_surveillance_ships

There is a (not-free) model of T-AGOS-12 here
http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-ocean-surveillance-ships/367866

I was unable to find any top view drawings or deck plans.
