The aircraft downloads page,
http://www.flightgear.org/Downloads/aircraft/index.shtml
is missing many of its aircraft. BTW, is there any reason why the 787 was
never included? It was the only model in the base distribution that wasn't.-

I have made an improved AI version of my 787 model. You can download it at
http://www.filefactory.com/file/7a04ae/

It has fewer files and smaller textures.

This problem may have to do with the xml files in AI/Aircraft/787/Models. The
files are missing & in a few locations. should appear in
lines 186, 208, 5588, and 7327. should appear in lines 195, 217, 5597,
7336, 7628, and 7642. I hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your assistance. You are right about the property
paths. However, if you look in CVS, you will find that 787/787-8-set.xml has
been replaced by 787/787-8ANA-set.xml, 787/787-8CO-set.xml, and
787/787-8FC-set.xml. These files do not make reference to 787/Models/787.xml,
but they point to files that replaced it. In those files, the issue in
question has already been resolved. If someone would remove 787/Models/787.xml
from CVS, I would greatly appreciate it.

After I tried the 787, I opened the eicas.ac, ndb.ac, and stby-alt.ac files
using WordPad. I found "png" in stby-alt.ac, but not in the other two files.
I replaced "png" with "rgb" and re-uploaded the model. I hope this takes care
of it.

When I moved my 787 folder to the desktop, downloaded a copy from
http://www.golffoxtrotsierra.741.com/787.zip and ran it in flightgear, the
instruments seemed to work fine for me without the png textures. They should
not appear in your 787/models folder. Try running flightgear and see if it
works.

Those three instruments are the ones that used png images. I modified the ac

Thank you for your input. I have made the revisions to the best of my ability.
When I tried the correct setting, it caused the viewpoint

settings in the second and third views. Also, Models/787-8CO.ac
should be removed, as it was replaced with Models/787-8.ac.

ANA and First Choice liveries were added. The three set files are
AN787-set.xml, CO787-set.xml, and FC787-set.xml. There are splash screens for
all three liveries. In the Models folder, the 787.xml file was duplicated and
edited to produce 787ANA.xml, 787CO.xml, and 787FC.xml. Some rgb images were
moved to airline-specific folders. Also, the hud was modified, the door
windows were enlarged, and the Continental rgb image was edited.-

I had opened 3089347.stg using WordPad and I got this:

OBJECT_BASE 3089347.btg

OBJECT EDDW.btg

OBJECT_SHARED Models/Airport/beacon.xml 8.789600 53.047730 1.7 0.00

OBJECT_SHARED Models/Airport/tower.xml 8.788160 53.051310 3.6 0.00

OBJECT_SHARED Models/Airport/windsock_lit.xml 8.804900 53.046450 3.0 0.00

OBJECT_SHARED Models/Airport/windsock_lit.xml 8.783810 53.042880 1.2 0.00

OBJECT_SHARED Models/Airport/windsock_lit.xml 8.792830 53.046190 1.3 0.00

If you delete the Models/Airport/tower.xml entry and save the document, the
tower should be removed from the airport. Not all airports have towers, but
the default tower is located at FlightGear/data/Models/Airport. The numbers
represent latitude, longitude, altitude In meters and rotation angle. Nice job
on EDLA. I have been working on KDEN, but it is not yet finished.

Re: [Flightgear-devel] Scenery Errors

Atsuke:
Welcome to the FlightGear discussions.
When you download scenery from flightgear.org, it is not initially readable by
the program. What I do is, after installing it to my desktop, I use the
fgadmin program located in C:\Program Files\FlightGear\bin\win32. (I have a
shortcut of the program on my desktop.) I do not personally use TerraSync,
but you can download it froom
cvs.flightgear.org/cgi-bin/viewvc/viewvc.cgi/source/utils/TerraSync/. After
you download the tarball, you will need the 7-zip program to decompress it.
That program can be found at www.7-zip.org/. I hope
this helps.

Thank you for the response. I have installed the binary, and it revealed
another problem with my model. I hope to eventually figure out a fix to it
(jet exhaust transparency/motion) as well as to the issue you pointed out to
me. This will be more difficult because I no longer have access to the "Browse
Internal Properties" feature. As for the real 787, you can find more info on

[Flightgear-devel] 787 Issues

2006-12-24 Thread JOSHUA WILSON
I have noticed that the beacon and strobe lights have stopped functioning on my
787 model. This was after I downloaded the revised 787\Nasal\system.nas file
to my computer. I believe that the revision is the likely cause of the
problem. It might have improved the model on other people's computers, but I
do not know. Also, I have used the sim/current-view/view-number
based select feature extensively on my model. Although this feature increases
framerates, it also causes portions of the plane to be missing to other
viewers. I am considering revising the feature to exclude exterior portions of
the aircraft. that might reduce framerates in the flight deck, while also
improving the appearance, to other viewers.

accelerations/pilot-g[0] functions to model the movement of the wings.

The command for compression is like this:

rotate

0.333

-1.5

0

The command for vertical g-forces is like this:

rotate

lwinga

accelerations/pilot-g[0]

 I started inboard, and worked my way out using three axis points.  (a,b,c;
b,c; c)This type of feature will also work for the 777 model or any other model
with a working accelerations/pilot-g[0] functions. Please feel free to make

Re: [Flightgear-devel] 787 model

2006-12-22 Thread JOSHUA WILSON
I apologize for the confusion. I developed the 787 model using various
sources, including some of the files from other FlightGear models and the
Boeing 787 brochure. the C:\Program Files\FlightGear\data\Aircraft\787 file
was not signifigantly modified from the 777 file. I do not have enough
experience or knowledge to make the aircraft behave like the 787 will. But I
have heavily modified some of the other files in the folder. For example, the
fuselage and wings were derived from the 767-400 model. I used engine
components from 737 models and flight deck components primarily from the 777,
but also from the Citation Bravo. My model does have some features that don't
exist on any other FlightGear model (perhaps even FSX), so I could be
considered to be the author, but I did not write all of the materials myself.
There is an Authors file that lists various authors of source materials.
