..true, but file a bug on the nouveau driver, and put the nouveau
developers to work, they need RL test cases and guinea pigs, _if_
we want them catching up with Nvidea and zooming past them.

Re: [Flightgear-devel] Does Flightgear have a problem with Ubuntu nouveau drivers

2013-06-10 Thread Curtis Olson
I've never been able to run FlightGear with the Nouveau drivers. Nouveau
is fine for desktop/2d level graphics and probably handles the gnome
desktop type effects just fine, but for high performance 3d graphics and
running FlightGear, it's hard to beat the actual Nvidia official drivers.

[Flightgear-devel] Does Flightgear have a problem with Ubuntu nouveau drivers

2013-06-10 Thread Innis Cunningham
Tonight I went to use the 737NG but every time I hit the auto start the program
aborted. So I tried starting manually everything worked fine the engines started
and the aircraft flew fine until I tried to activate the electronic flight
instruments then the program aborted.Thinking it might have been my old version
of the 737NG I tried the 777 same thing hit the auto start and the program
aborts. This is the latest version of FG from getdeb running on Ubuntu 13.04.As
this is the first time since I installed the program that I have used anything
other than the ufo,I develop for the AI and don't use any of the installed
aircraft.
Now as Ubuntu is not going to give up on the nouveau drivers and they may get
better in the mean time people new to Ubuntu will have problems using FG.
Anyway someone maybe can make sense of the following CLI dump after the 777
abort.
