I don't know why, but it sounds to me like your plib library is the
wrong version. You should install plib 1.8.4 or newer

Nothing much for over two years.
It's just one of five or six attempts to create a multiplayer engine for
FlightGear. None of them (except the current

Open source drivers are almost always better than their closed

Ok, got [plib], unzipped it and then did a ./configure on that.
Turns out that it could not find a working GL library. Tried
finding MesaGL or OpenGL on the install CD of SuSE Linux. I would
think that it already would be there since I could install an OpenGL
game and it did so

I am parked right at the KSFO 28R runway (in a taxiway).
I'm using fgfs 0.9.8a Win32 binary. Is this the problem?

Finally it works. I really don't know what's wrong but this time I saw
an helicopter near 28R, it was hovering around :-) Great!
Then FGFS crashed :-( I guess it was the same problem with another
user's wrong UDP packet. Let's investigate.

It's because of a network user having a plane in the directory
Aircarft/pc7 which is not in my dir tree. That would need some error
checking by FGFS client!!! FGFS crashes immediately after receiving a
packet with that information inside (Ethereal is my friend :-)

My bad, I thought
I thought I saw someone, but then the plane disappeared and I go this message:

Hey,
Anybody trying out this server, please stick to only the aircraft that
ship with FG. If you fly another, it crashes every client that doesn't
have that plane. And that, is rather annoying.
