In the short term, I'd strongly suggest removing the install you did
of the package from the ubuntu/debian repos and just grab a recent
tarball from here.
Then from the shell do the usual configure / make / make install dance
to get a proper fltk installation that has not been cubed up by the

First post. Trying to use fltk and Fluid under Ubuntu 10.04 but have had some
problems.
I have all installed with Synaptic Package Manager, I didn't do anything fancy,
but I can't launch FLUID from Applications/Programming/ menu.
I get an 'Error' message box with this disheartening

Exec=/usr/bin/fluid with no success.
I checked in bin for fluid and it doesn't exist.
I went to reinstall: 'apt-get install fluid', this went off great. I got
messages back that all was up to date. Still no
