Patricia, I did take a look, and the thing on the 400,000-yr-old pigment
finds was great. The range of color, that it was apparently used as body
paint, the fact that painting predates the physical evolution of the

bibliography) such a book does not exist. perhaps you are thinking of daniel
spoerri's "an anecdoted topography of chance" which higgins published. it is

cologne, has its home now in Bundeskunsthalle aka www.kah-bonn.de, maybe
you can find there some facts. Its the first archive of its kind, I think.
