After the opening of Ken Friedmans exhibition, we ate dinner at a

if you read what i wrote you'll see that i am not
talking about justification, art history or anything like that. but i do
believe that we need to have some way of explaining what we do (to ourselves at
least), in order for us to understand it ourselves.

my point is that you have to have faith in what you are
doing is good or important or meaningful and not think or care or know if
someone else is doing it better or doesnt want you to do it, etc. It's a leap of
faith to make art and be a part of something bigger than you that has no
