Congratulations to everyone! I did not participate in this box (which was my personal contribution to elevating the quality of the project), but have been dying for so long (2 years?) now to see what box and contents ended up looking like/being. WOW, Crispin, fucking great looking box...easy to imagine that George Maciunas himself would have been taken with this. And the contents are truly delightful. Can't quite see/read or hear everything as well as I would like (e.g., Fluxuations CD) and authorship is not clear for many items in this display, but what a great treat you have all created. Artist trading card, Exhale the Rocks game, While you were out note, reunion piece for Fluxlist (unsubscribe from Fluxlist. resubscribe to Fluxlist), stigmata stickers, official laser time machine unit, and lots of other booklets and poems and games. Time's Calligraphy really knocked me out. Was also pleased to see rubber stamp image from Fluxlist Box I show up on several works. Okay, everybody take the day off and celebrate! My Fellow Fluxlisters,

I am starting a new story project, an exquisite corpse. Let me know if
you want to participate, and
the more who do the better. I will send a sentence to the first person
on the list, who then must write a second sentence and send it back to
me. I will then send the second sentence to the next person on the list
and so on. I will only write the first sentence.
I plan on going through the list a few tmes.

Who's in?

RE: FLUXLIST: THE MANY USES OF WHITE-OUT

2004-05-18 Thread David-Baptiste Chirot

Re The Monkees:
they disastrously toured with Jimi hendrix on his first american tour!--the tour broke up after a number of shows, as i recall--
all the teeny boppers came out for the Monkees and found themselves being assaulted with the real heavy Jimi Hendrix Experience!
their film HEAD--jack Nicholson in it and was one of the writers as i remember--film was directed by Bob Rafelson who went on to do FIVE EASY PIECES and KING OF MARVIN GARDENS--both with Big Jack--
(at one point in college lived in same room in a rooming house Rafelson lived in--he came back to start working on a project to do film on the place and mainly to do with the landlady--a legendary local figure)--
Mike Nesmith one of pioneers of music videos--
once in Boston we had a white out party at basement lived in it at the time--huffing it--it was disappointing!--decorated parts of wall where had a mural going--with white out--and turned to the harder white stuff--celebrating an all night TWILIIGHT ZONE marathon on the channel 38--this went on until past dawn and then had to go to work--with white out all over hands and arms--strange twilight zone calligraphies for sure!
