RE: FLUXLIST: new project
I LOVE IT! I love that kind of website..The web should be made of loads more sites like this ! To me it has this special thing, which makes it so exciting to view..like going through the grammatron or acidtrip.com//a universe website, u know what I mean.. OKay...I tell you at the beginning I was telling myself Wow this man does so much stuff (especially when I was at the scientist page about cadmium emissions, after the tube mosaïc, and the boy, and a few more)lol, that's because I was looking for the adn to work and didn't really read the text at the begining. But still, before reading the text, I was still going trough the site, and I knew it after a bit..but ignoring the truth about it makes people experience the site even more, I think, but that's my personnal point of view. I hope people will feel the same as I did, the suprise and discovery of it, the adn, maybe you should not tell them the truth from the beginning..other people should like it with the text too.. But the colour of the text on the first page tends to make it disappear a little bit, and you chose this colour...strange But I love it! Great ! sincerely Djehan ps: everything was working ok on my computer ¿
RE: FLUXLIST: new project
hello, why would it be too complex? It expresses something real almost everyone experience like when you find your homonyme on google, and you check it and you see those pages(I am so sad I don't have one).I think it could be a website people would go back to but when they have the time..or is it just me? Re: FLUXLIST: new project
hi owen, one thing you might do is increase the contrast in the text as i cannot read it at all. it downloaded quite fast (on dialup). bests, carol xx Owen Smith wrote: To all interested parties (and even if you are not). . . . The following site is a final beta version of a project I have been working on for the last year (on and off). Would be interested in any thoughts, comments or suggestions. The initial animated graphic is a Java script and might load a little slowly on a dialup connection (but it is just a spinning model of a DNA strand so you can ignore it if it is too slow to load). RE: FLUXLIST: new project
Hi Owen, I like the site a great deal. Have you posted an earlier version of it before? It seems familiar. I agree with Carol, however, that at least the text on the main page needs to have more contrast. I'm sure it looks different from monitor to monitor, but a 60/40 or 70/30 tonal difference would help. I also like how the numbers in the left menu disappear once selected. Against the black background, it creates a pattern of your travels through the site. One caveat, and I'm not sure if it's intentional, but when I scroll down only the text scrolls. This means you can only access the numbers that will fit in the window. I am working on a laptop with a 15 screen, and I can't see numbers past the 60s with my window as large as I can make it... Looks good overall, though! RE: FLUXLIST: new project/site
Owen This is really well done. As a person who has a fetish about cast-off objects I found it very refreshing. Thanks. For those of you who have slow connections the site might be a little slow because of some of the image sizes. I would be interested in any and all responses. . . . .
