Hi crew: 1. In the maintenance branch, the -x command-line option appears to *only* spit out the configuration information, then bail out. Is that the desired behavior? If so, I should probably update the doc to reflect that. 2. In the trunk, the -x command-line option seems to be ignored. Also,

Angus, have you got JAI (Java Advanced Imaging) in your FOP environment (see http://xml.apache.org/fop/graphics.html)? If not that may be the problem as the TIFF support relies on the presence of JAI. If JAI is not available it defaults to using JIMI and that again will DCT encode your images as

TIFF image rendering in pdf is lossy
