Summary: FOP 0.20.5 AWTRenderer: Sometimes rendering fails in the
middle of a table with no error message
   Product: Fop
   Version: 0.20.5
  Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows XP
Status: NEW
  Severity: major
  Priority: P2
 Component: awt renderer
AssignedTo: fop-dev@xml.apache.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

My french team and I work on a Java project and we plan to embed FOP
0.20.5 for the needed print reports.

We experience a problem when we are using the AWT renderer with
documents that contain tables. Sometimes, a page is cut in the
middle of a table and its header (fo:region-before) is missing.

As far as we have investigated we can say that:

* We have neither abnormal output message, nor exception stack
  trace.

* We only experience this problem with the AWT renderer. Using
the PCL renderer works fine (but it lacks multibyte characters
support that is critical for some of our translated releases).

* We only experience this problem on a true printer (we have tried
several models from HP and OKI). We never reproduced the
problem using a fake printer such as Adobe Acrobat Distiller.

* With the FO document (bug.fo) that is attached, we experience
the problem 20% of the time when launching the printing from our
application (we tried both java.awt.print and javax.print APIs).

When using the `fop.bat' script, we experience the problem 100%
of the time with the same FO document.

  fop.bat -fo bug.fo -print

We tried JDK 1.4.1_07 and 1.4.2_07.

* So far, 100% of the time it happened, tables were involved in
  the document.

* Using the same FO document and the same FOP command line several
times may result in having the bug occuring on different pages
of the document. The printing does not fail systematically at
the same point of the document.

I have attached:

You can download http://www.guillaumeponce.org/fop/bug.fo.zip

The reference FO document we have used to investigate this
problem (zipped).

You can also download http://www.guillaumeponce.org/fop/bug.pdf

It is 12 Mb large. It is an actual 8 pages long paper print
that has been scanned. You can see that the problemI
describe occured on page 7 out of 8.

(In reply to comment #0)

I could also reproduce the bug using FOP 0.20.5 and the provided bug.fo. It
occured on page 2 out of 8.

As far as we have investigated we can say that:

 * We have neither abnormal output message, nor exception stack
   trace.
Same here for me (also using the command line option -d)

 * We only experience this problem with the AWT renderer. Using
the PCL renderer works fine (but it lacks multibyte characters
support that is critical for some of our translated releases).
Haven't tried it.

 * We only experience this problem on a true printer (we have tried
several models from HP and OKI). We never reproduced the
problem using a fake printer such as Adobe Acrobat Distiller.
Same here: the output in the Window of the AWT-Renderer looks fine. Only at
printing comes a problem.

If you (FOP Team) suspect that the problem lies in the AWT-Renderer, I could try
to investigate.

HTH,
Renaud

I am experiencing trouble when trying to create a table with FOP.

My first table column has a number-rows-spanned that is larger than the
number of rows fitting on a page. This leads to several problems:

1. The cell border is drawn across the page footer (does not end with the
last table-row on the page, but is drawn into nowhere if you have even more
rows).
2. The cell border for the (continued) first cell on the next page is
missing completely.

3. An extra page is being added at the beginning of my document. (?!)

Whether there is a patch correcting this mistake ?

Renaud,

Applied. Thanks.

There is a patch with a refactoring of the implementation of Knuth's
algorithm, in bug 32612. It does not change the basic algorithm. You
may wish to wait with any documentation until that is applied.

Fopdev's

I've been working on the AWTRenderer those last days. Before I move forward, I
would welcome some feedback to know if I'm heading in the right direction.

= What I did =

Basically, I tried to implement in AWTRenderer what the PDFRenderer does. The
drawback is that all what doesn't work for the PDFRenderer doesn't work for the
AWTRenderer neither.
I've posted a patch with the updated renderers. The patch has changes for the
classes AWTRenderer, AbstractRenderer, PDFRenderer and CTM plus a new class
BMPReader.

AWTRenderer: I implemented several renderXXX() methods and the corresponding
helper methods.

AbstractRenderer: I moved what I could reuse from PDFRenderer to
AbstractRenderer: renderTextDecorations(), handleRegionTraits(), and added the
needed empty methods.

PDFRenderer ans PSRenderer:
I moved 2 lines (currentIPPosition = 0; currentBPPosition = 0; ) in
startVParea() because the AWTRenderer uses those values in another way and need
to keep track of them (see startVParea() in AWTRenderer).
Speaking of startVParea(), could we rename it to something more meanigfull?
Proposition: TransformPosition, or something like this.
Deleted the methods moved to AbstractRenderer.

fop.area.CTM: added two getters for e and f. If there's another way to get those
values, please let me know.

= Points I would like to discuss (see the corresponding FIXME in the code) =

Fonts: I must be missing something with the font-mechanism: the rendered text in
the AWTRenderer is smaller that the one of PDFRenderer. What I need is a way to
get a java.awt.Font from an area.
Is the class FontSetup implemented correctly? Do I have to worry about
multibyte-stuff?
I could investigate the whole mechanism, but a hint would certainly speed my
work.

Colors: My method updateColor (Graphics2D graphics, Area area) doesn't work for
some areas.Same question here: how can I get a java.awt.Color from ANY area?

There are still many issues with the positioning of the areas. I keep track of
the current position with the variables currentIPPosition and
currentBPPosition.

Images: I can't update the currentIPDPosition and currentBPDPosition for
Image-areas. The Viewport associated with the image doesn't have any bpd
associated with it. Is this normal? The enclosed image doesn't have ipd/bpd
either. Again: is this normal so? I have a workaround in mind (getting those
values through the FopImage), but it doesn't sound right.
I implemented a simple .bmp rendering (BMPReader.java). It only supports 8-bit
and 24-bit uncompressed windows bitmap images. I found this code on the net. I
know you had problems with licences and I don't want to raise an issue here. I
did this implementation more for myself than anything. If there's a better way
to render .bmp (JAI?), let me know. Otherwise, I could try to convince the
author to donate the code in conterpart of some fine chocolate :)

SVG + External Objects rendering is very alpha.

renderTextDecoration(InlineArea) seems to work, even if it's not implemented??

renderViewport is overriden in PDFRenderer to allow clip(). Is this feature also
needed in AWTRenderer?

= What's next =

- fix the bugs described here
- implement the remaining features
- test the renderer on more complex files
- implement what's described on the wiki FopAndJava2D [1]

In the code, I used the following conventions: FIXME for the points I would like
you to review before checking the code in. And TODO for the points I still have
to work out (so please leave them). If someone using eclipse could mail me his
formatter (PreferencesJavaCode StyleFormatter, then Export profile), that
would be nice.

Any comments or suggestions most welcome. Again, please let me know if I'm doing
things the right way.

I wish you a nice weekstart.
Renaud

I have seen this reported on ticket #33164, but thought (since this is a
work-stoppage for me) I would add some more information and re-open this hot
item. I cannot upgrade to anything past v20.1a because, after that point, the
PCL render output fails when you specify external-graphic in the xsl with a
ArrayIndexOutOfBounds error. This worked perfectly with all versions upto 20.1a
and before after which point the above error occurs. I have tried every
distribution version of fop since to track down the exact point this problem
started and what I state is it.

This is not a problem with a limited renderring engine as the response to
#33164 states as it did work fine before with the same monochrome jpg images.

Any chance that some kind committer will commit this patch? The patch has been
languishing for ALMOST THREE YEARS, which is quite a while in internet time
:-)

I have applied it and it fixed a bug for me too (NB the bug is not dependent on
span=all).

But it would be nice not to have to maintain a private build of FOP. I would
like to see it fixed in Cocoon, but this will have to wait for an official FOP
release.

Summary: colspec colwidth=0*/ causes FOP to run forever
   Product: Fop
   Version: 0.20.5
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: P2
 Component: pdf renderer
AssignedTo: fop-dev@xml.apache.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

A zero-percent colwidth causes FOP to run forever when attempting to generate
PDF. Yes, I agree that
colspec colwidth=0*/ does not make much sense, but it's unfriendly for FOP
to never terminate as
a result of this. (I discovered this problem as a result of debugging output
from a table-generator that
had a bug.)

Sample file to demonstrate the problem:

!DOCTYPE section PUBLIC
  -//OASIS//DTD DocBook XML V4.3//EN
  http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/xml/4.3/docbookx.dtd;
section

 title
  XXX
 /title

 informaltable
   tgroup cols=2
 colspec colwidth=50*/
 colspec colwidth=30*/
 tbody
   row
 entry
  XXX
 /entry
 entry
  XXX
 /entry
   /row
 /tbody
   /tgroup
 /informaltable

/section

As shown, the file processes through FOP okay. However, if you change 50* to
0* in the first
colspec line, FOP doesn't terminate. (Strictly speaking, I don't know if it
runs *forever*, but it
certainly runs a very long time.)

bonjour Simon

yet another patch for DnI (end of ch 4 begin of ch5). the chapters 5.5 to 5.9
need a complete rewrite, because of the implementation of Knuth's algorithm.
would you say that it's stable enough to rewrite it now or shall i wait a
little?

cheers, Renaud

I have 6 fo:block-container. 3 at the left side of the page with text-
align=start and 3 at the right side of the page with text-align=end. So it
looks a little bit as a 3x2 table. Problem: if there is a certain space between
the left and the right objects, the text-align=end doesn't seem to work
properly. The three objects at the right side have exactely the same horizontal
position and also the same widht in the fo-file. But in the pdf-file one object
is placed at the wrong position! It moves a little bit to the left. So this
doesn't look nice if all objects should be right-aligned.

I can't see the problem in the test FO you attached. Maybe you have a
different test file where the problem happened. Alignment problems can happen
if you're using a font with kerning information. If you remove the kerning
elements from the font metric XML the problem should go away.

Gruss aus Luzern :-)

Status: NEW

  Priority: P2
 Component: images
AssignedTo: fop-dev@xml.apache.org

list.fo seems to process without error now, except for the following NPE
while loading a GIF image.

java.lang.NullPointerException
at sun.awt.image.URLImageSource.getConnection(URLImageSource.java:97)
at sun.awt.image.URLImageSource.getDecoder(URLImageSource.java:106)
at sun.awt.image.InputStreamImageSource.doFetch
(InputStreamImageSource.java:240)
at sun.awt.image.ImageFetcher.fetchloop(ImageFetcher.java:172)
at sun.awt.image.ImageFetcher.run(ImageFetcher.java:136)

I've found various posts on the net from people who have the same effect
but not necessarily the same circumstances. In GifImage we load the image from
an InputStream using a DummyConnection which is a URLConnection. However,
the Sun ContentHandler for GIF images seems to use their own URLImageSource (a
ImageProducer descendant) which wants the URL in the URLConnection to be non-
null. Sun also has a InputStreamImageSource internally which they should
probably use in this case.

I tried supplying a dummy URL to see if the code would still use the
InputStream that was supplied, but the image was loaded from the URL. So it
actually opens a new connection.

If anyone has an idea for a work-around, that would be cool.

Happens under Sun JDKs 1.4.2_06 and 1.5.0_01.

If I use the example .fo files coming with FOP 1.0dev, page breaks are ignored.
Also if I tried a simple example of my own with 'break-before=page' in an
fo:block it does not work.
This is happening with PDF output and with RTF (I know this is very very alpha
;-))

You should know that not only the RTF output is very very alpha, the PDF
output of FOP 1.0dev is, too. Don't worry, breaks are on the todo list. But of
course, you might want to implement them yourself and send a patch. :-) Breaks
shouldn't be too hard to implement and we're always happy if someone helps in
the development.

Yes, you are right the website isnt clear. When I tried the PCL Renderer, it
didnt work with colour images at all. So I suggest you pre-process them using
a graphics tool.

In future, please use the mailing list to ask questions, rather than asking
them in a bug report.

During converting the fo file to pdf file , all seem to be ok. Although there
are some errors and warnings, all are about unimplemented property. Then I
open the pdf, and the Reader told me that an unrecognized token'NaN' was found
when opening pdf file . But the file is still be opened with the exception of
that the first page is blank.

The strcuture of the fo file is very simple, only a table. It has a header,
footer and body. Under the header and footer, there is only one row. But there
are over more than 2000 rows enclosed in the table body.

This is a known issue. The PCL Renderer is very primitive, see the website
 for
 more info on limitations:

 http://xml.apache.org/fop/output.html#pcl

Okay, thanks.

I saw that, but it didn't say that images wouldn't be rendered, just that
they'd
be monochrome and not rendered properly if outside the printable area.

I'm extremely reluctant to install a software in a language I don't understand.
It's already enough of a pain to have a mixed german/english system. I'm sorry,
but I won't install that version of Acrobat.

IMO if different Acrobat variant (even with the same version numbers) produce
different results it's more of a problem of Acrobat. I'd check if Adobe support
has any idea.

I understand.

Meantime, is any way how to embed complete ttf font into PDF document instead
needed parts only?

http://xml.apache.org/fop/fonts.html writes:
... When embedding TrueType fonts (ttf) or TrueType Collections (ttc), a
subset of the original font, containing only the glyphs used, is embedded in
the output document. ...

XEP includes complette font informations and theirs PDF does not prouce the
problem.

We have some developers capacity to try to solve such problem ourself, so if
some change of souce will help, we can try it.

The description is a bit misleading. FOP embeds the whole font file into the
PDF, which is actually a bad idea (CJK fonts files are big). There are
additional
structures in the PDF which are needed for mapping PDF character indexes into
glyph indexes. FOP fills these with data only for characters which have been
used in the document. I vaguely remember there are a few more PDF structures
still missing.

I am sending the font files, too. It is because I thing problem could be
somewhere in embedding fonts or something similar. Our test did show two things:

1) If you remove font definitions for Arial from userconfig.xml, error never
occurs... But # sign is displayed instead Czech characters, of course.
2) Very occasionaly Acrobat Reader shows error with text similar to Can not
remove 2ac2eArial font . before GPF.

I checked on Acrobat Readers 4.0.5, 5.0, 6.0.2 and GhostScript 8.14 and all
showed your PDF and a newly generated one (using your sources) correctly, even
closing and reopening the file several times.

What you could try is to disable kerning by setting kerning=no on each font,
but it may be necessary to remove all kerning elements from the font metrics
XML files. Maybe it has something to do with that but I'm not sure.

At the moment I have no clue what's wrong.

I noticed this strange behaviour of FOP (0.20.5): the more documents I
generate, the less of these

area contents overflows area in line

FOP messages appear! I tested it by generating the exact same document over and
over. These messages decrease until they don't appear anymore at all! When I
restart my application (JVM) the same behaviour occurs: first lots of thses
messages ... decreasing ... vanishing at all. Of course real messages stating
the text that cause the overflow

area contents overflows area in line Hello, this-is-a-very-long-text-that-
doesnt-fit-into-the-FO-box

--- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2005-01-07 17:44 ---
Thank you for quick reply.

Well, we have here a typical helpdesk problem - how to reproduce problem
customer is reporting :-/. I know it, because I was on techsupport helpdesk one
upon the time :-)

Disabling of kerning I did try early and it does not help at all.

Your reply discover that problem can be reproduced only on regional versions of
Acrobat Reader. It does not matter, if it is Czech version or English Central
European version. Of course I did not test all existing versions of AR, but I
think that this example is satisfactionary.

To comment more versions you did test:
4.0.5 - we are not using it and so I did not test it
5.0.0 CE - regional czech version produces the error.
5.0.5 - english version - does not produce error,
5.0.5 CE - regional czech version produces the error.
6.0.0 CE - English version for Central Europe produces the error
6.0.1 - English version does not produce the error
6.0.2 - as stated early, does not produce problem on regional czech version

So it seems, that problem is attached with English CE or Czech CE versions of
Acrobat of versions 5.x and 6.0.0 or 6.0.1.
But still here remains question, why PDF produced by XEP 4.1 does not produce
the error on any version.

I am not expert - but only to give you any informations - can not be problem
connected with embedding fonts some way? Maybe XEP uses a little bit different
aproach for it?

To help you reproduce the problem I put on our ftp two examples of installation
packages of AR 5.0.5 CE:

ftp.sybase.cz/pub

you can use anonymous login

Any conclusions, which can help us to solve this problem wellcomed

Summary: Sticking words in generated PDF document
   Product: Fop
   Version: 0.20.5
  Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows 2000
Status: NEW
  Severity: critical
  Priority: P2
 Component: pdf renderer
AssignedTo: fop-dev@xml.apache.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

We are expriencing strange problem:

Documents generated using FOP 0.20.5 sticks words accidentaly in PDF document.

We are using FOP 0.20.5 to generate PDF documents using XSL and XML on command
line and progrmmaticaly. We are using Java j2sdk1.4.1_02

Example:

code in XSL:
fo:inline xsl:use-attribute-sets=chr.012This text is example/fo:inline

In PDF is seen:
Thistext is example
or
This textisexample

When we open the same PDF document several times, it sticks different words
sometimes, not the same each time. Occasionaly is text correct and not sticked.
When we look in XSL, the text is correct.

Error can be produced only on large PDF files (our example has 5 pages) with
long continuous text and many fo:inline sections.

We did try another XSL:FO processor - XEP 4.1 with the same XSL and XML files
and it produces PDF without any formatting error. So it is why we assume, that
error is in FOP.

We did test, that error can be produced on Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0.0 CE, 5.0.5
CE, 6.0.0 CE.
Error does not appear on AR 6.0.2 CE. But you can understood, we are not able
to influence on users, which version of AR they will use...

In document we are using Arial font defined in userconfig and appropriate xml
definition file.

If needed, I can provide more necessary informations as:
- XSL and XML example
- fop configuration

Side effect of this error is GPF in AR sometimes.

Any help very wellcomed, because it looks to be serious problem for us.

Status: NEW

i have an PDF that is generated using the same XSL:FO Template on the
same Machine using the same Versions of Java, the libaries, the fonts
and fop (
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_06-b03),
fop 0.20.5
)

The only difference in the xsl:fo Templates are three lines of plain
Text that are dependend on the user who generated the document.
The Third line that differs is not included in the screenshot, its a
date in the following block-container.
Nevertheless the PDF Output in a line of static text differs: One
version has a messed up spacing between c and a .
How can that be?

This Output is ok: http://www.db-central.de/jens/first.jpg
This is not: http://www.db-central.de/jens/second.jpg
The Red box shows whats wrong, the green box shows the dynamic elements.
First one used this xsl:fo
http://www.db-central.de/jens/first/12ba203a599955d85d9e399a313ecfe6_228
69.fo
Second one this:
http://www.db-central.de/jens/second/13523e22c4c9c4692a27fa7d21c20f72_22
650.fo
I compared them using a diff tool, they are identical, just the Names
are different.

The font Metrics file i generated using FOP is here:
http://www.db-central.de/jens/tahoma.xml

I noticed in another project the depending on the ttf font file used
character spacings were generally messed up, replacing the font file
(which worked fine under windows) seemed to do the trick.
(in this case we replaced the Univers Font File with its Corel
equivalent Zurich).

If necessary i can provide you with the font files as well.

If i change the Name at the top of the page from Mr. Rudi BBK1 to

www.spectrocampus.com at the bottom of the page is okay again.

Mr. Rudi BBK1 (letter scrambled)

Does www.spectrocampus.com appear scrambled in your PDF Viewer too? In

Yes, I can see the problem in my PDF viewer.

This is most probably a kerning problem. I've had this myself and resolved it by
disabling kerning. Specify kerning=no for the Tahoma font in the
userconfig.xml. I must say, however, that I don't think that is enough to
disable kerning. I remember having to remove all the kerning elements in the
generated font metrics file.

I'm closing this bug as I'm pretty confident that this will solve your problem,
but please reopen if this doesn't help. HTH

Summary: Arabic words are broken for rendering PDF from FOP
   Product: Fop
   Version: 0.20.5
  Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows 2000
Status: NEW
  Severity: critical

AssignedTo: fop-dev@xml.apache.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Lack of support for multi-language seems to be happening in FOP.

Arabic is right to left, and there are rules for joining letters.

We did the following steps listed in
http://www.javaranch.com/journal/200409/CreatingMultipleLanguagePDFusingApacheFO
P.html

However, the Arabic words are able to display letter by letter, but the words
are broken. No glyphs to join letter with letter...

Initially we thought it may be the font problem. Then we tried download quite a
number of Arabic fonts, (like tradbdo.ttf, trado.ttf, nesf2.ttf,
Nafees_Naskh.ttf etc.) The font that contains most glyphs are Nafees_Naskh.ttf,
which contains 581 number of glyphs. However, after rendering pdf using FOP,
the words are still broken.

There is no BIDI support in FOP 0.20.5, which not only means no support for
fo:bidi and writing-direction=lr but also no detection of tb-rl scripts.
There had been a patch for the latter which required Java 1.4 (Java 1.3
doesn't have the necessary infrastructure). If you manage to find it, you
can use arabic and other tb-rl scripts, but you still have to remember to
swap begin/end-margins and similar properties for blocks explicitely.

I am one of the developers in GIMP-help-2 (http://www.gimp.org/docs/) project.
Recently we plan to convert XML files to PDF, I just try fop. Unfortunately it
have not worked for Chinese docs. It complained of hundreds of No spaces to
justify text in line, and ended with Exception in thread main
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space.

When using fo:titlefoo/fo:title (which seems perfectly legal), FOP dies with
a NullPointerException after giving the message Unexpected: fo:text with no
fo:block ancestor.

The exception is raised in
org.apache.fop.fo.FOText.createBlockPointers(FOText.java:199), which tries to
find a fo:block ancestor, gives the Unexpected message when it reaches Root,
and then loops back and gets a NullPointerException.

Inserting a break; after the Unexpected message instead gives a
ClassCastException at
org.apache.fop.layoutmgr.ContentLayoutManager.addChildLM(ContentLayoutManager.java:287),
where it tries to add an org.apache.fop.layoutmgr.InlineStackingLayoutManager,
which isn't an InlineLevelLayoutManager.

I'll add an attachment with sample code.

We use FOP for generating different PDF documents. Several of our clients are
not able to print one special type of these documents right after downloading
them. The error message is kind of Document could not be printed. Print job
could not be started (translated from German). It is possible after the
document was saved.

We could not yet reproduce the error.

The XSL templates for the corresponding PDF doesn't seem to contain anything
suspicious that is not contained by XSL templates for other PDFs.

Does anyone has an idea what problem may be responsible for this behaviour?

I don't think this is FOP-related; we just create the PDF. I think your
problem is with the Acrobat Reader. Do you see anything in common with those
clients which aren't having a problem and anything in common with those who
are? (i.e., browser type, version of AR on the client, etc.)

Does the same problem occur if you send a PDF not made by FOP? If so, you may
want to try the Acrobat site for help.

Glen

Hi Glen,

thanks for the immediate reply. You are right. We found out, that the problem
is indeed an AR problem. The filenames of the generated documents are
generated, too, and for some types of PDFs they become very long. Obviously
there some AR versions which cannot handle printing of a document which such a
long filename. At that point it also makes sense that printing after saving
works. The user probably would have chosen a much shorter filename.

Thank you,
Stephan

Thanks Thomas - since this is a Batik/SVG issue then it is not a bug with FOP.
I will mark it as invalid.

Mark - before raising bugs it is generally a good idea to ask questions on the
user mailing list. You would have received an answer sooner.

Hi Mark,

I'm pretty sure this is a misunderstanding of the SVG
specification on your part. In particular I think you
need to read the sections on viewBox and
preserveAspectRatio (PAR).

As to your second example you need to read section 14.3.4
which makes it clear that the clip rect is based on
X/Y/Width/Height not the viewBox directly. So the
content is set to fit horizontally (default value of
PAR). This means that 'space' is left above and below
the content (think movie letter box). Since the clip
is based on W/H not viewBox the content above and below
the viewBox area is allowed to show.

I suggest the bug be closed as INVALID, but I will leave that
to a true FOP person.

I intend to use the file below to create a small book in which the pages are
defined as SVG files. The FO is intended to provide titles, page numbers, and
bundle things nicely so it can be displayed as a PDF. Unfortunately, the values
I use for the width and height of fo:instream-foreign-object and svg seem to
be ignored. When I transform the below document, there are large gaps both
above and below the image.

With the current settings, the svg content ought to obscure the header and
footer. However, the entire SVG has been squashed and leaves large gaps above
and below the image content. Could someone look at this and tell me if this is
an error in my coding or if it's a bug?

Thanks,

Mark McKay

Summary|Rendering images wrong size |'viewbox' attribute of svg
   ||element handled incorrectly

--- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2004-12-04 04:48 ---
It seems the bug is due to the vertical aspect of the svg's viewbox attribute
not being handled correctly.

The document below demonstrates the problem more clearly. The second rectangle
drawn here should extend outside of the viewport; however, it's vertical aspect
is still within the view.
