The unknown origin of some long-existing example FO files is not a problem IMO. 0.90alpha1 will carry a big warning sign in the README file that the software is a preview release and should not be used in production unless thoroughly tested for the target environment. It is intended to let everybody know that FOP is back in business and to produce feedback on our new piece of software from users that don't (or can't) download the code from SVN. I'd like to propose to release FOP SVN Trunk as version 0.90alpha1. +1 from me, obviously.
