Hi, Henrik

You can do fairly elaborate stuff with 'format', 'grouping-separator' and
'grouping-size', all properties on fo:page-sequence. "format", for sure,
squeaked into the code before the rewrite got underway.

But you don't need any of that. You may be missing the forest for the trees.
What you really want is

Page 1.

for the appropriate static content in page-sequence 1,

Page 2.

for page-sequence 2, and so on and so forth. Your XSLT can generate the
numbers that apply to each page-sequence.

I habe absolutly no idea how i can make page-numbers like this:

Page 1.1 \
Page 1.2  \   
Page 1.3   | all the same fo:page,  only pagebreaks 
Page 1.4  /
Page 1.x /

Page 2.1
Page 2.x
