I have succeded to solve the problem :)).
in fact the stupid IE needs to have .PDF at the end of the URL (the url must
be structured to have .PDF at the end while it is not usefull).

I would like to add that the sample given with the ditribution of FOP tha
renders fo files with a servlet works wether the call of the servlet is from
IE or Netscape Navigator.
Please help.
