Thanks for the response.
I am using footnotes - but these work perfectly if just pure tables on page.
Problem only arises when also following block of text.
And space left on page when premature page break triggered is
substantially more than the footnote depth.
Although it is always the same
Hello All,
I have converted as XML-FO with SVG as foreign
object to pdf using FOP. I have certain fonts in SVG
which needs to be written and not drawn. To enable
this, i have included a configuration file with the
font metrics of the fonts included. The pdf that i

Dear all,
Not sure if this is the correct list to write to (if it is incorrect please
accept my apologies) but am having some difficulty with an XSL FO document.
Briefly my current development set up involves formatting my initial data
into my own ML and then transforming into the fo namespace
Hi,
About having tables in the footer. I have that in several documents without any
problem. I've never tried tables in the header.
Cheers,

Ok, thanks. Where/how can I set characters on which line should be
break? In FOP line breaks on /, - and space characters. I want
only space to be in this set. Can I put there any other character, for
example: ,? I tried with hyphenation-character option but it doesn't
works - maybe beacause
And one more question: is that all means that really I can't make block
with wraping text, where lines breaks on the end of block (line width
equals block width) in XSL-FO? I'm asking it one more time because it's
very strange...

I know that opacity is a problem as evidenced known problem

However, does anyone know why?
I attempted to work around this issue by converting the image first to png (tried tiff and jpeg too). The opacity is there with png, but
Hello
Not
sure why this is a problem. I use batik to create JPGs with transparency from
SVG input. I then embed these with FOP. Have you tried rasterising your SVG
separately ?

Ah, opacity is not a problem with
jpegs. However, svg
graphics such as text appear less crisp than the original SVG, especially when
printing.

I have just tested a table inside a table header cell on a table that

check or post that (as long as it's small enough))

Daniel,
Do you use multiple simple-page-master layouts? I've had problems when I
try copying info from one region to another (region-before to
region-body) due to the fact that I forgot to change the attribute from
'extent=' (region-before and region-after) to 'margin-top='
(region-body). What
Clay,
Attached is the layout and header and footer FO code and the XSL stylesheet.
The header and footer still come out only on the first page and not on any
subsequent pages. Still very puzzled - any help much appreciated.
Many Thanks

This gives error/warning message - some content cannot fit into static area.
Increasing the size of region-before/after then makes regions work OK on
subsequent pages.

Thanks Mike,
Modifying the region-before and region-after has worked :-) Now just a case
of playing around to get it to work completely.
Many thanks to everyone who helped - I'm not sure if I would have ever
spotted/ stumbled across this problem.
Thanks again

You can't.
In FOP line breaks on /, - and space characters.
Well, whitespace without hyphenation, / and - when hyphenating.
I want
only space to be in this set.
Turn off hyphenation.
Can I put there

That's a non-breaking full width space, inappropriate for forcing

They can be overridden when imported, the spec has an example.
I guess, what I mean is: if they are both defined in a stylesheet
external to the one used to construct the FO, would one of the two

I´will try the J.Pietschmann idea (xsl:use-attribute-sets)
I think i need to do 3 transformations to do the html-css to fo process
The first one to create the xsl:attribute-set templates form the css source

The second one to transform the class html attribute
I use an embedded version of FOP, primarly to keep the Java hot

But I face the problem that the PCL-renderer is rather slow compared to
the PDF-renderer (which my initital testing was based on ).
I feed FOP with an XSL-FO
