SVG-rendered text looks crude with FOP 0.20.3rc; looked fine with 0.15.0

Hi, SVG-rendered text looks very crude using FOP 0.20.3.rc (with Cocoon 2.0.1 on Tomcat 3.3a/4.0.2, JDK 1.3, SuSE 7.3). I get the same undesired effect using FOP 0.20.1 stand-alone. Basically, I am using sth like this, svg:text x=365pt y=45pt

Hi, Of course the first place you should look is the documentation: http://xml.apache.org/fop/svg.html This should answer all your questions. Note: FOP 0.15 did not use batik, which is why it is limited On 2002.02.20 05:35 Thorsten Daum wrote: Hi, SVG-rendered text looks very crude using FOP

Hi Meena, As far as I know fo uses an HTML-like approach: use tables. So you need to define a table with one row and three cells, one of them being 2 inch wide (use the column-width attribute of fo:column element). I haven't tested this but it would look something like this: fo:table

Hi I had a similar requirement and I solved it using list-block. You could also use table for such formatting. I agree, that it is more complicated to do so Rgds Jay -Ursprüngliche Nachricht-Von: Meena [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]Gesendet: Mittwoch, 20. Februar 2002

I'm no java expert (not by a long shot) but in your command you have defined the classpath for xerces and xalan twice (each to a different version of xerces.jar and xalan.jar). As the error says java.lang.NoSuchMethodError this might be because of the confusing claspath? just my $0.02, Michiel

Another option would be to use a list -block to format it. You can then use fo:block to add in the indent. I found it useful having those fo:blocks in there as you can hang pretty much anything off them. Here's an example: fo:list-block color=#ff font-size=14pt font-family=Helvetica
