is there any option in fop to append or insert the generated pdf to an existing pdf file ( usually not generated with fop).
No. Youcan use other tools to achieve this, usually iText http://www.lowagie.com/itext is recommended. There is some sample code how this can be integrated with FOP in the list archive.
