Hi Andreas,
In PDF the dasharray is specified with whole numbers only, the numbers
represent units.
If a fraction is placed in the dash array then the viewer will report an
error.
So it rounds all numbers to a whole number greater than 0 when creating
the dasharray.
You could try scaling it.

could I alternatively use smaller units (f.e. points instead of mm?)?
I tried that but while Batik and ASV accept other units fop seems to not accept
units defined within the stroke-dasharray. Fop would stop and
