[foreman-users] Katello capsule content sync super slow?

2016-07-26 Thread Dylan Baars
Hi all,

we have a katello 3.0.1 install with a katello capsule in our DMZ.

we've noticed if we publish/promote content, the main katello server does
this reasonably quickly, but tasks (to sync content) on the capsule are
taking hours to complete to match the change on the main server. Does
anyone know why this is? Can it be improved?

Thanks!
Dylan

Hi Chris,

Provisioning templates are for provisioning the hosts, they are used by
kickstart, preseed, etc to build the host and configure it for the first
time.

It sounds like you want to run a command on a host, in that case you
should have a look at foreman_remote_execution plugin which can do
this via SSH.

[foreman-users] Foreman Puppet Agent Reports - View Diff access control

2016-07-26 Thread Gustavo Oliveira Hoyer
Hi everyone!

I would like to know if there is any way to control who can access to the
"View Diff" funcionality on Foreman Reports for puppet agent runs.

Is there a way to control who can access that feature?

I want some users to access the reports but dont access the "view diff".

[foreman-users] Foreman Templates

2016-07-26 Thread Christoph Siebert
Hey there,

I got a problem with the templates.
I wanted to write a ping template like this:

<%
ping @host
%>

After I studied some of the other templates that should send a ping to the
host. I only done that to test if the connection and execution of templates
is working on the host.
But now I can't give my hosts any templates. If I choose under Hosts > All
Hosts my host I can't add a template to the host. Nowhere is it possible.
But there are so many example provision templates.

Why didn't the web UI recognize them to add them to the host?
Did I misunderstand the templates/provision templates?

Main question: How can I send a ping or package-install command to the
hosts I want to manage with foreman? The documentation doesn't seemed
helpful there.

[foreman-users] Re: Backing up the foreman database

2016-07-26 Thread Adrian Cunnelly
I've answered by own question :-) Did the sensible thing and looked at the
source for the backup task (/usr/share/foreman/lib/tasks/backup.rake) and
found it has a "destination" parameter.

Thanks

When backing up the Foreman database using "foreman-rake db:dump" is it
possible to specify a destination folder for the backup file ?

[foreman-users] Re: Katello 3.0.2 (Saison) Released

2016-07-26 Thread Edgars M.
I will check certs again, though they are standard certs used across our
infra

Crane config is configured with default CA certs, not my custom:

## SSL directives
  SSLEngine on
  SSLCertificateFile "/etc/pki/katello/certs/katello-apache.crt"
  SSLCertificateKeyFile "/etc/pki/katello/private/katello-apache.key"
  SSLCertificateChainFile "/etc/pki/katello/certs/katello-default-ca.crt"
  SSLCACertificatePath"/etc/pki/tls/certs"
  SSLCACertificateFile"/etc/pki/katello/certs/katello-default-ca.crt"

[foreman-users] ovirt 4 integration problems

2016-07-26 Thread apgriffiths79
Hi,

I have Foreman 1.11.4 (actually Katello 3.0) and I'm trying to setup a
compute resource on ovirt 4.0. When I trigger Load Datacenters on the
initial configuration page I get "Unable to save undefined method `+' for
nil:NilClass".

Is ovirt 4 supported? Can anyone give me any pointers? Hitting the API with
curl seems to work fine - I can list the DCs.

Thanks,

Alan
