yeah... essentially it's useful for it... MS hates GPL.. (follow the haloween documents and some Balmer talks..) there are some cool things in .NET and even sites like port25, channel9, codeplex are dedicated to opensource within the MSDN community... one thing is MS doesn't exist to make good code... they do it to earn money... and they are good marketers... Open architecture is something everyone can benefit... and yeah that's why MS also came to power... (remember the IBM pcs... and their IBM compatible counterparts?).... so M$ is taking steps to opensource for sure.. but they'll try to shove a crappy license...
