i think its better to make pen drive bootable tto 'em using (dd or
unetbootin) .and teach 'em to play on bios to boot very pen drive.

what you are doing is very appreciable but why do it in traditional
way when we can do it the other way..i mean having a
bootable pendrive is same as having a bootable CD/DVD of Linux
OS..this way they will also learn how to make a bootable
pendrive and boot form

used a CD/DVD almost 2 years now!
Making the Boot able USB storage is Definitely the way to go!
But Lots of Questions arises too! IF YOU ARE ADDRESSING THE MASS.

1. People aren't carrying
You could ask them to bring USB pen drive and / or blank CD or you could
ask them for small amount of money to cover the cost of a blank CD / DVD.
