my processor is amd 64 bit n OS ubuntu 12.04
battery backup is less than 15min in ubuntu where as it used to be 2.5hr in
win7
how can i solve this problem, plz help

i'm not sure how to fix the problem!
After the ubuntu backup is dead switch to windows and see whats the
battery % is left!
if its not very low! then Might be the calibration issue!
try turning off your power management! it will run in 0% battery for 1
hrs!

$acpi -i
it shows you the percent batt. remaining and the time remaining , as
well as the last full capacity of your battery
and search and look for the application named jupiter , It can help
you to balance between your machine's performance and the battery
life.

Also you can install and use the powertop utility. It shows you which
application is eating how much of power and provides easy tweaks to enhance
your battery backup.
