If someone disagrees, shout loud :-) I don't disagree, but I'd say it might actually quite reasonable to keep it on the live CD boot screen where the user will see it both first and infrequently, but drop it on the desktop itself wherever we can. Hi Brian, Done: http://live.gnome.org/BrandGuidelines I've added a small amount of generic advice on how to use the images. Feedback and review would be welcome. Re: Meeting Minutes Published - February 15th, 2011
Dave is looking for help in hosting a webinar type session (and you've reminded me to ping the AdBoard). The choice of codec is a crucial issue here. To avoid pressuring GNOME supporters to use nonfree software, the codec needs to be free. Also the site should not use Flash and it should work with Javascript disabled. -- Dr Richard Stallman President, Free Software Foundation 51 Franklin St Boston MA 02110 USA www.fsf.org, www.gnu.org ___ foundation-list mailing list foundation-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/foundation-list

Allan: Sounds good. Let me know when you have the page updated and I'll ask the legal folks to give it a final look over to make sure the wording is good. Vincent: A few years ago, it was agreed that it's fine to use the GNOME logo with just GNOME instead of GNOME™: the trademark is still valid even if we don't explicitly put the ™. Is this still valid? Use cases: - GNOME logo during boot of the GNOME 3 live image - GNOME logo in the System Information panel of the control center - etc. I asked our legal folks this question, and they responded as follows: > Yes, it is recommended that you generally use the Tm, but in isolated > instances it's fine to go without.
