Re: foss-north 2018 GNOME presence
Hi Kristi, I just got my attendance to FOSS North confirmed so you may send the Events Box to my address. I'll be there for at least the Community day, I don't know yet about the two business days, but will know soon. -Bastian On Thu, Feb 14, 2019 at 3:08 PM, Kristi Progri wrote: Hi all, Hope this email finds you well. This year we will be present again with our booth in foss-north conference. The event takes place during April 7-10 at Chalmers Conference Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden. Will any of our volunteers be at the event, who would like to give us a hand during the conference? We need an address to ship the box to with our swag, if someone could help with that would be great. Please let us know if you are coming https://wiki.gnome.org/Events/foss-north/2019 Thanks in advance, Kristi ___ foundation-list mailing list foundation-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/foundation-list
Re: Introducing Christoph Simon
Welcome! :) -Bastian On Mon, Sep 4, 2017 at 10:49 , Christoph Simonwrote: Hi there! I've just received my foundation membership and like to introduce myself. My name is Christoph Simon and I live in Karlsruhe, Germany, where GUADEC 2016 took place. GUADEC 2016 is also my main contribution so far, I did the visa invitation letters and I helped organizing and running it. Now I got involved with the travel committee and I am working on a web app for applying for and granting of travel sponsorships. I'm 33 years of age and I'm a electrical engineer, working at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology on a PHD thesis (KIT is the university in Karlsruhe where the venue was). My field is power electronics and specifically I'm working at the Light Technology Institute on an EU project to build a water disinfection system with UV radiation; my part is the power supply to a newly developed UV-Lamp. Computers and Programming are hobbies to me, I do know mainly Python and C, and some microcontroller and FPGA programming because I use those to control my power supply. I also know GTK, I've already used it for several (non public) apps. Thanks for having me in your community, I'm looking forward to improving GNOME with you, Christoph Simon ___ foundation-list mailing list foundation-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/foundation-list ___ foundation-list mailing list foundation-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/foundation-list
Re: Really professional GNOME videos
Hi, On Wed, Mar 23, 2016 at 9:13 , James <purplei...@gmail.com> wrote: [..] I think this video does a great job of showing that entirely Free Software can produce professional videos (and it also highlights our great software too!). As editor of those videos it makes me really happy to hear your thoughts James! Every cycle the GNOME community advances the free desktop and I think creating extra awareness around our efforts is really important in the distracted days of social media. With Karen and Mike doing the professional voice-over and translation team for professional subtitles. :) About the distribution line, the original idea was that it should show the distros in the next coming months chronologically. Then that slipped (collecting that information took longer than anticipated) so I resorted to listing the distros here: https://www.gnome.org/getting-gnome/ I do see Ubuntu GNOME there, I'll make sure to list it in coming releases. -Bastian ___ foundation-list mailing list foundation-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/foundation-list
FOSS-North 2016 conference call for speakers
Hi, The FOSS-GBG[1] group who held an event during GUADEC 2015 which attendees had opportunity to visit last year is holding a conference named FOSS North on May the 26th. The conference will be located in Gothenburg, see also: http://foss-north.se/ The call for papers ends on April the 10th. I talked in the engagement team about coordinating a speaker who could possibly talk broad about the state of GNOME and new free desktop technology[2]. AFAIK the conference will cover a broad set of topics from embedded to anything. If anyone's interested in submitting a paper feel free to write here or let the engagement team know. -Bastian [1]: http://foss-gbg.se/2015/08/gnometraffen/ [2]: https://wiki.gnome.org/Engagement/TeamMeetings/18-MAR-2016#Conferences ___ foundation-list mailing list foundation-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/foundation-list
