I tested the example (example-0.c
 ) on
Windows 10 Enterprise (10240), but I get a runtime error 'Unspecified fatal
error encountered, aborting.'. I'm using VS2015 IDE Update 1, and the stack
(https://github.com/wingtk/gtk-win32/pull/18). Please let me know whether
you're testing the latest release of the library GTK 3.18.6 stack on OS

As far as I am aware there is no PayPal account for the project 
specifically. AFAICS, your options are to either donate to the GNOME 
project or to the GIMP project - which is where GTK+ kind of started.

The GNOME Foundation does fund travel and other expenses to support GTK+,
like for the GTK+ hackfest. So donating to GNOME would help with that :)

I suggest you go to

In general though GTK+ doesn't use a browser rendering engine if you're
referring to something like webkit.  GTK+ is a widget toolkit and has it's
own way of rendering widgets.  Ask your question there, but please state
what you're trying to do first.

community who want to get started on GNOME :)

I think that is good idea to comment your project to the portuguese

I don't think that this is a good idea. This way, GTK is installed multiple

This is not necessary. GTK+ is LGPL licensed which means that you can
link it against a non free software application. If you'd sell your
software and yet wouldn't offer LGPL or GPL licensed copies of the code,
your application wont be free software. But for GTK+ that's fine.

If you do want to donate money, the best place to start is here:

http://www.gnome.org/friends/

Note that this doesn't apply for libraries in the GNOME platform that
are GPL. Only for LGPL licensed ones. Most libraries in the GNOME
platform are LGPL licensed, though.

Hi Olivier,

GTK+ is licenced under the LGPL. If you modify GTK+ itself for your
application, then those modifications fall under the same licence. The
licence does not apply to any applications using GTK+ though.

About your money question, there is no royalties requirement at all. You
are free to do as you wish (and you may wish to donate some of the
returns to the GNOME Foundation, of course). But the licence does not
require you to have any particular pricing policy - you are free in this
matter.

Job postings on gtk-list are considered OK by its list admins. That's
not the best place but it will reach most of the relevant people.

I am currently working on getting gtk+2 to work on a sparc machine
loaded with Solaris 8.  Your website references a version of pango and
says that is it for GNU/Linux and Unix.  Do you know if this version
will work with Solaris Unix on a sparc machine?  Also do you know of
this version that is precompiled?

thank you for reading this email. 

I would like to give a suggestion about window Borders. This might have
been discussed before, but I feel the need to address the issue. 

If you look at most Windows and Mac apps, the newer ones don't have
window borders. I agree that this is the best way to go. I have noticed
that most apps developed with GTK+ have windows boarder and did not no
if it's because the GTK+ doesn't support not having borders or if the
developers are just not creating apps without borders. I feel that
borders make the app feel a little cluttersome. Is there a way to ensure
I don't have borders on my windows? I would really really really love to
develop apps without borders.

a CC list will probably do it, with the advisory and board lists in it.

You might also want to arrange an extra conference call with the
advisory board if that's more to their liking. But that will probably
take 2 or 3 months to arrange.

I'm disappointed that this has been turned into a discussion about
discussing.

Your timing is fantastic -- we're having an Advisory Board meeting tomorrow
morning. I will bring it up then. :-)

 2) Please investigate if the hiring/sponsoring of a full time Gtk+
maintainer position by the Gnome foundation is also a possibility.

Current and previous boards have been very cautious about the idea of hiring
developers. We'd prefer to hire people who can support the work of hackers.
That's not to say it's completely off the table, but there's more we can do
with contributing companies beforehand.

Just for the record, I'm taking this issue very seriously. It's one of the
reasons I brought up GTK+ collaboration with the GNOME Foundation (and the
other project mentioned during the GTK+ meeting at GUADEC).
