RE: Setting the default environment for DM's in Foxview
That is close to the solution I have, I had a problem when I
commented out the
$OPTFOX/env/Initial.env
# call in initial environment:
Thank you very much for the verification that I was not doing it

Thanks Alex,
I was able to do the
following and I wanted to see if it was the correct way to do it. I uncommented
the $ENV1 line in fv_cmds and (as you said) oput the full path in dmcfg. It

Foxboro says you can't do this, but you can. You need to change the file
called /usr/fox/wp/data/fv_cmds. You need to comment out the line that
reads:
$OPTFOX/env/Initial.env# call in initial environment
and uncomment the line that reads
#$ENV1 # call

It is my experience that full pathing the env names in the dmcfg file does
not seem to work

Joe:
Use a display manager script (.dms) to parse the FoxView DMNAME
variable and you can put the FoxView into specific ENV's. The .dms file does
not exist you will have to create it.
Here is an Example:
Initial.env:
dmcmd nolog_script
dmcmd passwd
dmcmd chng_env
$ENV_DIR/Initial

Use a full path name for the environment; not just its name.
There's a DM environment variable that you can change to set the correct
path for your environments, but darned if I can remember what it is and my
expert just went to lunch! How embarrasing.
