Are you using Windows XP? I vaguely remember having the same problem with
FrameMaker 7 on Windows XP machines. We even had a proper Acrobat version
installed, but still the joboptions wouldn's appear in FrameMaker's print
dialog. We found out that the joboptions were located in several
This machine doesn’t have folders like these. I have no idea how this was set
up, which is frustrating as all get out.
I’ll keep poking at this. Any other thoughts are appreciated.

If you don’t have the folders Marion listed, I’d assume that you have Vista or
Win7. The folders would then be these:
C:\Program Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings
C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe PDF
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\Settings(if such a directory exists

I've saved the joboptions files to the same location as the installed
jobsoptions. I rebooted.
I did that and they are not appearing in the list with the default job
options.

When I embed an Excel (or a PDF) file in FM10 then Print to PDF or Save
As PDF, all I get are lifeless icons in the resulting PDF -- ie, no

Hi Framers,
What on earth have I done? Suddenly single or double quotes in
FrameMaker 9 (fully patched) display as question marks. (Only in Frame,
not Outlook, Notepad, or Word.)
I've been on Windows 7 for awhile now; only thing I've changed recently
is to edit maker.ini so Ctrl-V will paste
Sorry if I needlessly took anyone's time -- a co-worker just compared my
maker.ini file to his and discovered that I had inadvertently introduced
some corruption when I edited it yesterday. I substituted his .ini for
mine and all is well again.
Thanks!
