Theresa,
You can probably do away with the CRs by just putting your cursor before the
Heading 1 text and Special-Page Break and then at the option for At top of
next: choose Column from the drop down list and then click the Set button.
This assumes you are now at the top of the current column. If
Theresa,
I've, too, have sent a couple of queries in the last day and have not seen
them nor any comments back. Surely in this day and age we are not making
some poor list admin okay all these posts, are we? There must be a better
way.
Probably some software quirk is making the list hiccup, but
Nope, Kensington Expert Mouse trackball. One of my coworkers has the same
problem and he uses a Microsoft Natural Laser Mouse.
I guess we’re just lucky! sob.

I'm gonna take a guess that you are using a Microsoft Touch Mouse.
If so: Return it for your money back, as I did.
If not: Got nuthin'.

Hi, Framers--it's been a while!
I am working within Unstructured FM8, though we might transition to
Structured (and maybe FM10) someday, so please bear that in mind as you
devise a strategy to deal with my challenge below.
Goals:
Three separate deliverables:
- Full Manual: A traditional book;
I have created a table to try to show what would be included (in
pseudo-Para Styles) and what wouldn't: a sort of propagation hierarchy.
I think it shows the challenge well, in that TASK deliverables are both
less and more than CHKL deliverables.

I've been mostly happy with FM 10 since I upgraded a couple of months ago
from FM 8. A question and a note, though.
Question
It seems like FM 10 does not save my PDF bookmark settings. I can't recall
ever seeing this before, and it's really a pain in the neck. I select
Hello:
Some times, it's the little stuff that can really stump you. I'm using Frame

of the icons disappear from the toolbar. I'm wracking my brain to try to
remember what I did to cause the text option icons (bold,

Hi Framers,
I have many 25 word short stories. The master page has been divided into
4 frames which each have:
Heading1 - Author
Heading2 - Subject
Body - Story
Originally I put a marker in Author with author name and in Subject with
the title. Since the author is

How do I search/replace for curved open and close quotes to straight quotes?
I have smart quotes turned off (which turns ON curved apostrophe).

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I just upgraded to FM10. For
some reason when I convert to pdf, paragraph text always converts in
italics. I can take a document I created a while ago in FM8, open it with
FM8 and convert to pdf with no problem. But if I open the exact same
document in

When I save the book as pdf and tick the create hyperlinks, the index

The little white hand *always* shows in the pdf, but it doesn't always work.
Ideas?
Thanks,

The text formatting tool buttons (which many Frame users will tell you that you
shouldn't be using anyway, since they apply formatting as an ad hoc override to
the paragraph format rather than applying a named character style) are one of
four different sets of buttons that you cycle through
An easier solution is to create a paragraph format called PageBreak.
Give it a very large space below setting that is larger than the height
of the text frame, such as 500 points. You can insert a paragraph with
this tag wherever you need a page or column break. You can also use

I've received a note off-list complaining about my clarity. Because of
the length
in FM10 and convert to pdf, all of the body text is in italics.
